Silestone® quartz

Silestone® project photo

Silestone® by Cosentino is a leading quartz surface for kitchen countertops, bathrooms, floors and wall cladding. It is NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) approved and GREENGUARD certified.

Key features

  • Low porosity helps resist household stains.
  • Water and neutral soap suit routine cleaning.
  • Cleaner residue should be rinsed away.
  • Cutting boards help protect the surface.
  • Hot pads are needed beneath hot cookware.
  • Heat-producing appliances should not sit directly on the surface.

Best uses

Silestone works well for indoor kitchen prep and serving areas when users protect it from heat and clean spills regularly. Follow Cosentino’s instructions for the selected texture and cleaner.

It is not a landing pad for hot pots or an unprotected base for electric skillets and slow cookers. Sun exposure can also affect its color, so do not assume it is suitable for an outdoor kitchen.

A full, searchable Silestone® color library is coming to this page. Until then, browse the current lineup on the Cosentino website, then tell us your pick.

Common questions

Can a slow cooker sit directly on Silestone?

No. Cosentino advises against placing heat-producing appliances directly on the surface. Use suitable heat protection.

Can heat damage appear without a broken slab?

Yes. Direct heat can cause dull areas or scorching as well as thermal-shock cracks.

Should I add a sealer to improve the shine?

Cosentino advises against sealers and water repellents to enhance the surface’s luster. Follow its cleaning instructions instead.
