EOScu Protective Surface

Wherever large numbers of people pass through, there is a risk of contamination and growing quantities of bacteria. Because bacteria can live on surfaces for days to months, they can spread from one person to the next through the surfaces we touch.
Cupron Enhanced EOScu Surface was the first practical, EPA-registered product on the market to kill bacteria within two hours, providing a reduced bio-burden and a pleasing, functional look. EOScu offers a warm alternative to copper alloys, the only other surface material with EPA-registered public health claims.
Key features
- Copper oxide is incorporated into the material.
- Antimicrobial function is not an applied coating.
- Available as slabs and molded components.
- Slabs can form counters, shelves and workstations.
- Molded options include sinks and bed rail kits.
- Routine cleaning and disinfection remain necessary.
Best uses
EOScu is intended for high-touch healthcare surfaces where it supplements established infection-control practices. Review counters, workstations and patient-room components with the facility’s infection-prevention team.
It is not a substitute for cleaning, hand hygiene or disinfection. Reducing contamination on a surface does not necessarily prevent cross-contamination; use only claims and applications allowed by the current EPA label.

Common questions
Is the copper technology a surface coating?
No. The manufacturer says copper oxide is incorporated throughout the material during manufacture.
Can EOScu replace routine disinfection?
No. The EPA-registration guidance requires continued cleaning, disinfection and other infection-control practices.
Does a lower surface bacterial load guarantee no cross-contamination?
No. The manufacturer’s EPA-registration notice expressly cautions that reduced microbial contamination does not necessarily prevent cross-contamination.
